TITLE:
CREW WORKER, LEAD PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
The purpose of this classification is to lead small teams to perform semi-skilled work in the maintenance of the parks, golf course, cemetery, and department facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Performs general laboring tasks in one of the following areas: parks, golf course, cemetery, and department facilities. Participates in cleaning equipment and performing preventive maintenance; makes minor repairs to equipment. Assists Supervisor to ensure quality work within the department. May assume lead role on team tasks. Operates a variety of trucks and equipment in performing tasks. Inspects equipment and assigned work area for safety hazards. Mows grass at parks; weed eats and edges; measures, cuts and lays sod; mulches lawns; blows leaves; plants trees; trims trees; seeds; lays straw; removes trees and debris. Cleans and performs preventative maintenance on department facilities. Picks up and disposes of litter; removes and replaces trash receptacles. Shovels snow. Pressure washes park facilities and equipment; paints as needed. Assists with special events as needed. May schedule use of facility.

Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
