Job Description

Team Leadership & Scheduling:
Supervise, schedule, and support courier staff; manage call‑offs, delays, and emergencies; provide route coverage when needed. "Ensure continuity of service coverage by managing call-offs, delays, and operational emergencies…"
Training & Performance Management:
Provide onboarding, coaching, and ongoing performance evaluations.
Staff Communication:
Conduct team meetings and formal evaluations.
Safety & Service Culture:
Promote safety, accountability, standardization, and customer service.
Route Coordination:
Assign and monitor daily courier routes, including STAT and temperature‑sensitive specimen transport, secured cash bags, supplies, and mail.
Fleet Oversight:
Ensure vehicles are safe, compliant, and well‑maintained; manage maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs. "Maintain oversight of the courier vehicle fleet, ensuring all vehicles are safe, operational, and compliant."
Administrative Duties:
Track attendance, approve time records, assist with payroll, budgeting, supply ordering, and fleet‑related costs.
Other Duties:
Support additional operational needs as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's degree in logistics preferred "Education - High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in logistics preferred." 2-4 years in courier, logistics, or transportation 1-2 years supervisory or lead experience preferred Healthcare, laboratory, or hospital experience preferred Valid driver's license Clean driving record (no moving violations in past 3 years preferred) Annual certified driving record required Must sign Meritus Vehicle Management Use and Control policy ("Attestation A") Familiarity with HIPAA, infection control, and chain‑of‑custody Experience with fleet management or maintenance scheduling Proficiency in Microsoft applications and route management software Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
