May 22, 2026 Responsibilities Supervises, participates in, and instructs subordinate mechanics, repairers, technicians, and other workers in maintenance and repair activities. Supervises the performance of a team and is responsible for training and development. Ensures operational reliability of equipment vital to the Water Supply and its infrastructure. Supervises and performs repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on power generation assemblies, industrial engine driven pumps, and specialized water treatment equipment. May supervise snow operations which includes planning, preparing, repairing, and maintaining equipment used in snow operations. Makes visual inspections and tests equipment in order to determine need for repair or adjustment. Keeps and maintains records and files necessary including any maintenance activities when using maintenance management software. Excellent verbal and written communication and computer skills are required. Procures all tools, materials, and equipment needed to complete repairs or provide maintenance activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
REQUIRES
High school graduation and six (6) years of experience in the automotive mechanic's trade, including one (1) year at the level of Senior Fleet Maintenance Technician AND six (6) month of lead work experience Must possess a valid State-issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies Ability to possess a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Class A, B, or C issued by the State of Missouri prior to the end of the employee's probationary period Ability to pass a physical examination, preemployment drug screen, and background check as prescribed by the City Who May Apply To establish a/supplement an existing promotional eligible list.
