$225.00 - $250.00 / day Position Overview We are an Independent Service Provider (ISP) contracting with FedEx Ground. We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Business Contact (BC) / Operations Manager to oversee our daily pickup and delivery (P&D) operations. In this role, you will lead our driving team, manage driver staffing pipelines, ensure terminal service standards are met, and take charge of fleet maintenance management —working directly with local mechanics to ensure our vehicles are safe, compliant, and on the road.Key Responsibilities Fleet Maintenance & Mechanic Coordination:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all vehicle issues. Review daily Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), diagnose immediate maintenance needs, coordinate repairs directly with local mechanics/shops, and schedule preventative maintenance to minimize route downtime.Recruitment & Hiring Pipeline:
Take full ownership of driver staffing. Source applicants, conduct interviews, manage the onboarding process, and execute required road testing to keep the driver roster fully staffed.Terminal Coordination:
Act as the direct point of contact with FedEx Ground terminal leadership in the Miamisburg area. Coordinate morning dispatch, manage linehaul arrival delays, and ensure 100% compliance with service level agreements. Fleet Oversight (P1000 Focus): Oversee a fleet consisting heavily of commercial P1000 step vans . Ensure all trucks are organized, clean, and mechanically compliant with DOT regulations.Driver Management & Technology:
Schedule and dispatch drivers daily. Monitor real-time delivery metrics, route density, and vehicle safety data using GroundCloud and associated logistics tracking software.Job Requirements & Qualifications Fleet & Operations Experience:
1-2 years of experience managing final-mile delivery logistics, including a proven track record of handling fleet maintenance, coordinating with mechanics, and managing driver recruitment .FedEx Background:
Prior experience managing a FedEx Ground operation as a BC or manager is highly preferred.Technical Skill:
Direct, proficient experience with GroundCloud (or equivalent route optimization, telematics, and digital vehicle inspection systems).Regulatory Compliance:
Solid understanding of DOT regulations, commercial fleet safety standards, and driver qualification files.Driving Qualifications:
Must meet all standard FedEx Ground driver qualifications (Clean Motor Vehicle Record, clean background check, valid DOT medical card) to assist with road testing, training, or moving fleet vehicles for service.Benefits & Work EnvironmentClear Daily Rate:
