This role ensures vehicles are safe, compliant, and operational while supporting efficient route execution and maintaining Amazon service standards.
Key Responsibilities Fleet Management:
Manage a fleet of Amazon delivery vans and other company vehicles. Monitor vehicle utilization, availability, and maintenance schedules. Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and warranty services. Ensure all vehicles meet DOT, state, Amazon, and company compliance requirements. Track fleet KPIs including downtime, maintenance costs, fuel efficiency, and accident rates. Conduct vehicle audits and maintain accurate fleet records. Coordinate vehicle registration, insurance, and licensing renewals. Manage relationships with repair vendors, dealerships, and roadside assistance providers.
Operations Management:
Supervise daily delivery operations and dispatch activities. Ensure drivers depart on schedule and complete routes efficiently. Monitor route performance, package delivery metrics, and operational KPIs. Support loadout operations and address delivery-related issues in real time. Collaborate with Amazon station leadership to resolve operational challenges. Assist in staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning. Safety & Compliance Promote a strong safety culture across the DSP operation. Investigate vehicle incidents, accidents, and driver safety events. Conduct safety meetings, ride-alongs, and coaching sessions. Ensure compliance with Amazon DSP standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies. Monitor telematics systems for speeding, harsh braking, distracted driving, and other safety behaviors. Driver Leadership Supervise Delivery Associates and Lead Drivers. Provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action when necessary. Support driver onboarding and training programs. Recognize high performers and develop employee retention initiatives. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. 2+ years of supervisory experience in transportation, logistics, fleet management, or delivery operations. Experience managing commercial vehicle fleets. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices and fleet compliance requirements. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and fleet management software. Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
