This position will begin part-time, with hours based on our scheduled workload. As the company grows and our job volume increases, we intend to increase hours, build a larger crew, and create additional leadership opportunities. We are not simply looking for someone to climb trees. We are looking for someone who can eventually become the owner's right-hand person in the field — someone who can lead by example, help manage employees, communicate professionally with customers, maintain safety standards, protect company equipment, and keep jobs moving when the owner is not physically on the job site. For the right person, this can grow into a long-term Crew Leader / Field Manager position with additional responsibility and compensation.
Compensation Starting pay:
$40•50 per hour, depending on experience, skill level, leadership ability, and overall qualifications.

Schedule & Hours This is a part-time position to start. Because we are a new company building our customer base, hours may vary depending on scheduled tree work. Some weeks may be busier than others. Applicants should understand that this is not currently a guaranteed 40-hour-per-week position. Our goal is to continue building the business, increase the workload, add additional employees, and eventually provide the right person with more consistent hours and greater responsibility. What You'll Be Responsible For This is a hands-on climbing and leadership position.
Responsibilities may include:
Climbing trees using professional climbing systems, ropes, saddles, and equipment Tree removals, pruning, trimming, and technical tree work Setting up and operating rigging systems Safely lowering limbs and heavy wood around homes, buildings, vehicles, landscaping, utilities, and other property Operating chainsaws and tree-service equipment Operating bucket trucks when qualified and necessary Assisting with ground operations when needed Leading and directing ground crew members Helping keep employees productive and jobs moving efficiently Helping organize the daily job site Making sure employees understand their responsibilities before work begins Reviewing daily safety procedures with the crew Making sure required safety logs and checklists are completed Inspecting climbing gear, ropes, saddles, chainsaws, trucks, trailers, chippers, and other equipment Removing unsafe or damaged equipment from service Reporting equipment problems immediately Helping determine what equipment will be needed for upcoming jobs Helping coordinate equipment rentals, pickups, and deliveries when necessary Keeping trucks, tools, climbing equipment, and work areas organized Communicating with the owner regarding job progress, problems, customers, employees, and equipment Responding to important work-related calls and messages Helping train new employees as the company grows Helping supervise future ground crew members Maintaining professional behavior around customers Communicating respectfully with homeowners Making sure customers understand what is happening on the job when appropriate Helping make sure the customer is satisfied before leaving Keeping job sites clean, safe, and organized Making sure customer property is protected Helping build a crew that works safely, professionally, and efficiently Leadership Opportunity As the company grows, we want the right person to take on more responsibility. A CDL is a major plus. Depending on qualifications, responsibilities may eventually include: Driving company trucks Pulling trailers Moving equipment between job sites Picking up rental equipment Transporting tools and equipment Helping make sure the correct equipment arrives at each job Because this position can develop into a leadership role, reliability behind the wheel is important. Safety & Equipment Responsibility Safety is a major part of our company. The Lead Climber / Crew Leader will help make sure: A job-site safety review is completed before work begins Employees understand the work plan Required PPE is being used Climbing equipment is inspected Rigging equipment is inspected Chainsaws and tools are checked Trucks, trailers, and chippers are operated safely Unsafe conditions are addressed Damaged equipment is removed from service Equipment problems are reported Customer property is protected Employees follow company safety procedures throughout the job Production is important, but safety, professionalism, and protecting the customer's property come first.
