This is a hands-on operational position responsible for helping ensure customer orders are accurately prepared, packaged, processed, and shipped on time. The Shipping Operations Coordinator will also work within our Odoo ERP system, assist with inventory activities, operate our etching equipment when required, and coordinate closely with Production, Inventory, Operations, and other members of the Shipping team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in accuracy, organization, teamwork, and getting the job done. Our Shipping department operates as one team, and employees are expected to cross-train and support the overall workload to help eliminate bottlenecks and maintain uninterrupted customer service. Duties and Responsibilities Pull and prepare customer orders for shipment. Package parts accurately and securely for outbound shipment. Verify part numbers, quantities, and shipment contents before shipping. Coordinate shipment readiness with Operations and Production. Maintain shipping accuracy and support on-time order fulfillment. Help reduce shipping backlogs and maintain efficient workflows. Use Odoo ERP to process Delivery Orders and shipping workflows. Review Delivery Orders for accuracy and shipping readiness. Update shipment statuses, operational notes, and shipping information within Odoo. Maintain accurate shipping documentation and operational visibility within the system. Identify and escalate shipping discrepancies, inventory issues, or workflow concerns. Operate etching equipment to apply required customer markings and part numbers. Verify that etched parts meet customer and shipment requirements. Cross-train on etching procedures to maintain department coverage and operational continuity. Prioritize etching work based on shipping urgency and operational needs. Assist with physical inventory counts and inventory verification activities. Help identify and report inventory discrepancies. Maintain organized staging, packaging, shipping, and surrounding work areas. Support coordination between Shipping, Inventory, Production, and Operations. Help maintain accurate and organized movement of products throughout daily operations. Work collaboratively as part of a unified Shipping department. Support overall department workload and operational priorities regardless of individual customer or account assignments. Cross-train across critical shipping responsibilities to reduce bottlenecks and single points of failure. Communicate professionally and effectively with Operations, Inventory, Production, Management, and fellow Shipping team members. Demonstrate accountability, urgency, reliability, flexibility, and a team-oriented attitude. Follow all workplace safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain shipping materials, tools, boxes, paperwork, and operational supplies in an organized manner. Proactively identify and address clutter, misplaced inventory, unsafe conditions, and disorganized work areas. Qualifications Previous shipping, warehouse, manufacturing, fulfillment, inventory, or related operational experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Basic computer proficiency. Ability and willingness to learn ERP and shipping systems. Odoo ERP experience is a plus but not required. Ability to safely lift, carry, move, and handle materials and packages weighing up to 50 pounds , with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to safely package and handle parts of varying sizes and weights as required. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout warehouse and production areas during the workday. Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain an orderly work environment. Willingness to cross-train and support multiple Shipping department functions. Ability to identify discrepancies and communicate operational concerns. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workflow requirements. Position Expectations The Shipping Operations Coordinator is expected to maintain shipping accuracy and urgency, support department-wide operational success, provide customer-focused execution, maintain organization and accountability, adapt to changing operational priorities, and learn and support all critical Shipping department functions. Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site position located in Rancho Dominguez, California. The position operates within an active manufacturing and warehouse environment and requires regular movement throughout Shipping, Inventory, Warehouse, and Production areas. Employees are expected to maintain clean, organized, safe, and professional work areas and follow all applicable workplace safety procedures and PPE requirements.
