Job Summary We are seeking a high-energy Yard Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our Long Beach recycling facility. This role is responsible for managing the flow of materials, supervising a team of equipment operators and laborers, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and productivity. You will be the "boots on the ground" leader ensuring our C&D recycling targets are met daily.

Responsibilities Team Leadership:

Supervise and schedule a team of excavator operators, sorters, and ground crew.

Operational Oversight:

Coordinate the intake, sorting, and transport of demolition materials to maximize facility throughput.

Safety Compliance:

Enforce OSHA and site-specific safety protocols; conduct daily safety "tailgate" meetings.

Equipment Management:

Oversee daily inspections and coordinate with maintenance teams for heavy machinery repairs (Excavators, Loaders, etc.).

Quality Control:

Ensure materials are sorted correctly to meet recycling standards and minimize contamination.

Logistics:

Communicate with truck drivers and dispatch to manage incoming loads and outgoing shipments efficiently.

Qualifications Required:

Experience in a supervisory role within construction, demolition, or recycling environments. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operations (specifically Excavators with thumb attachments). Proven ability to manage diverse teams in a fast-paced, outdoor industrial setting. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Preferred:

Bilingual in Spanish and English (Highly preferred for team communication). Current OSHA-30 or related safety certifications.
