Job Description

Job Overview The operations lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating warehouse operations, inventory control, dispatching, and merchandising. This role provides leadership and guidance to the operations associates by setting high standards to ensure accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and safety. Warehouse Operations Supervise inbound processes to ensure shipments are received and stored accurately Oversee outbound processes so orders are picked, tested, staged, and loaded on time and accurately Execute transfer orders to support accurate, efficient distribution across the company Maintain organized storage systems while enforcing FIFO standards and safety procedures related to equipment use and workplace hazards Inventory Control Lead and execute inventory cycle counts, ensuring accuracy and accountability Correct and maintain a cleared negative inventory to ensure accuracy of stock records Monitor serialized stock and enforce proper rotation practices Analyze large, serialized, and net inventory adjustments to identify root causes, document details, and implement corrective actions Dispatching Assign delivery orders based on schedules, routes, and workload Track delivery progress to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient service Maintain accurate dispatch records and communicate status updates to relevant teams Enforce safe loading, securing, and transport practices for all dispatched deliveries Purchasing Collaborate with corporate partners and the sales team to develop purchasing strategies Resolve discrepancies with suppliers and evaluate product quality, pricing, and packaging Monitor inventory levels and adjust purchasing plans to balance supply with demand Communicate purchase order status and updates across sales and purchasing teams Merchandising Develop and oversee merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and presentation across showroom and storefront Partner with sales and marketing on displays and promotional setups Ensure stock is replenished and rotated in customer-facing areas as needed Maintain customer-facing areas in a professional, organized, and client-ready condition Team Leadership Supervise and support operations associates across warehouse, dispatching, merchandising, and purchasing functions Provide training, guidance, and coaching with a strong emphasis on safety procedures, compliance, and operational excellence Delegate tasks effectively, monitor performance, and ensure associates are cross-trained across functions Foster a collaborative team culture, addressing performance and safety issues promptly. Oversee facility upkeep, including cleanliness, organization, and light janitorial duties, stepping in when necessary to maintain safety and standards Requirements Experience
  • Typically 3-5 years in a warehouse or distribution environment, at least 1-2 years in a lead or supervisory role preferred. Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred. Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • ideally, some experience in platforms such as NetSuite WMS, Manhattan, or SAP; able to generate and interpret reports. Inventory Control
  • Understanding of cycle counting, stock rotation, discrepancy resolution, and replenishment processes. Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
  • Knowledge of safe operation and licensing requirements for forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, etc. Shipping & Receiving Procedures
  • Familiarity with bill of lading, packing lists, carrier scheduling, and freight documentation. Safety Compliance
  • Hazard recognition, and incident reporting. Leadership & Team Coordination
  • Ability to train, mentor, and motivate warehouse associates; delegate tasks effectively. Communication Skills
  • Clear verbal and written communication with internal teams, drivers, suppliers, and management. Problem-Solving & Decision-Making
  • Able to address operational issues quickly, balancing speed with accuracy. Time Management
  • Prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing accuracy or safety. Attention to Detail
  • Ensures order accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with SOPs. Adaptability
  • Can adjust to changing priorities, seasonal volume shifts, or urgent issues.
Background & Authorization A Driver's License Authorization / Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check to review driving history and confirm insurability will be required for this role.
