GED Full Job Description Position Overview:
The Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing the distribution center's product storage process. This includes unloading inbound shipments and placing products in appropriate storage locations to minimize the risk of misplaced or lost inventory. This role ensures operational efficiency, product integrity, and employee safety. The position involves working closely with Receiving Management to maintain operational excellence and promptly resolve any shipping-related issues.
What You'll Do:
Supervise a team of 10+ associates, delegating daily work assignments Supervise and coordinate the inbound put-away team during daily operations Oversee and participate in stocking products, changing storage locations, and determining optimal placement to maximize space utilization Work closely with upper management to identify opportunities for increased efficiency Verify inbound shipments for accuracy, including purchase orders (POs), quantities, and SKUs Implement strategies to improve storage layout, reduce errors, and increase order fulfillment speed Monitor employee productivity and attendance and address performance issues as needed Ensure products are stored quickly, accurately, and efficiently always Monitor orders and replenishment for customers Recommend improvements to storage, inventory, and warehouse procedures Maintain overall distribution center cleanliness and organization to ensure a safe work environment Conduct audits of put-away operations, verifying locations, styles, and quantities Lead the implementation and monitoring of safety programs Provide support and flexibility across other operational areas as needed Plan proactively to manage staffing efficiently and reduce overtime Perform other duties as assigned
Who You Are:
High School Diploma, or equivalent Receiving experience 1-3 years of experience in a similar role within a distribution center environment Excellent attendance and ability to work a regular, predictable schedule Basic mathematical skills Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the distribution center Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying noise levels, lighting, and temperatures Forklift and/or electric pallet jack certification is a plus
Pay:
$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
