Overall role description:
Croda is seeking a Shipping Coordinator responsible for processing deliveries and stock transfers for all Croda North America shipments, including samples shipped directly from the manufacturing sites, packaged goods and bulk shipments. Communicate any problems or issues between supply chain, distribution sites and customer service. Perform all duties within the Company SHE regulations. All other duties assigned by management.Key Duties/Purpose of Role:
To be responsible for creating outbound deliveries in line with business guidelines and arrange appropriate transportation to ensure on-time delivery of Customer Orders, as well as arranging physical stock returns and stock transfer orders for other drivers when necessary. To progress orders using the SAP system, ensuring "ready" orders are prioritised and dealt with at the correct time with regard to transport route lead-times and required delivery dates, liaising with relevant internal departments (Customer Service, Sales, Accounts, Warehouse) to solve order-related problems. Follow up with the appropriate teams when OBD's cannot be created due to incomplete details in SAP or credit blocks To place orders with agreed forwarding agents as appropriate for the destination and size of load, negotiate rates and select suppliers for "spot-orders" To consolidate orders by destination to reduce costs as far as possible without compromising on-time delivery performance To arrange transport and shipping documentation for product returns as required To assist in resolution of transport related customer complaints To communicate with external contractors regarding late deliveries To raise any inspection lots and Addenda within the stock movement and communicate priorities to the QC department. To organise Pre-delivery shipment samples against customer orders. Day to day planning skills to keep track of, and prioritise outbound deliveries and stock movements. Extensive planning and organisational skills to meet and satisfy customer demand over extended periods of time. To continually devise and create improvements to systems and ways of working to improve efficiency and the speed of delivery of information from the department. To write and maintain task instructions relating to the role. Investigate and respond to customer complaints and raise supplier complaints. Validate all extra charges for transport or demurrage for the Finance Team. Action requests and enquiries from Customer Care to enable any amendments to orders to be completed to agreed satisfaction and agree order changes to full minimum order quantities. Identify any stock issues and inform relevant parties so that these can be resolved immediately. To assist the line-manager in freight rate negotiation Communicate with a. All disciplines on site, commercial department, transport companies, customers Effective verbal and written communication skills in English Extensive knowledge of SAP processes and MS Office software Ability to prioritise workload and to work to high standards and tight deadlines Sound knowledge of International Trade processes High level of interpersonal skills Team playerPhysical Requirements:
