Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Freezer Shipping Supervisor to oversee the efficient operation of our cold storage and shipping processes. This role is vital in ensuring that frozen products are handled, stored, and dispatched with precision, safety, and adherence to quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a comprehensive understanding of logistics within a temperature-controlled environment. As a key member of our team, you will drive process improvements, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure compliance with safety regulations to support our commitment to excellence in frozen product distribution. Duties Supervise daily freezer shipping operations, ensuring timely and accurate dispatch of frozen goods in accordance with customer orders and delivery schedules. Manage inventory control within the warehouse management system (WMS), maintaining precise records of stock levels, locations, and movements. Coordinate with warehouse staff to optimize materials handling, heavy lifting procedures, and forklift operations while adhering to OSHA safety standards. Oversee shipping and receiving activities, including verifying shipments against purchase orders and ensuring proper documentation using systems such as AS400. Implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline logistics workflows. Monitor compliance with safety regulations related to cold storage environments and materials handling equipment. Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure seamless distribution and transportation of frozen products. Train and manage warehouse team members on best practices for inventory management, forklift operation, and safety protocols. Conduct regular audits of inventory accuracy and implement corrective actions as needed. Support e-commerce fulfillment processes by coordinating order picking, packing, and shipping within strict cold chain requirements. Skills Extensive experience in warehouse management, including warehouse supervisor roles within cold storage or freezer environments. Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (such as WMS or AS400) and logistics operations. Proven ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a safe and productive work environment. Proficiency in materials handling equipment operation, including forklifts; mechanical knowledge is a plus. Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety and cold storage facilities. Expertise in shipping & receiving procedures, including documentation accuracy for freight carriers. Experience working with 3PL providers and managing complex supply chains involving heavy lifting and temperature-sensitive products. Knowledge of process improvement methodologies aimed at enhancing operational efficiency. Ability to adapt quickly to evolving e-commerce fulfillment demands within a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and warehouse processes.
