Job:
Seeking a high-energy, smart and eager leader to join our team as a Warehouse Supervisor for our Wholesale Textile Company. As a key member of our team, your role as a Warehouse Supervisor will include managing people, processes, and systems, in order to ensure goods are received and dispatched appropriately and productivity targets are met. You will thrive in our team-oriented, success-driven atmosphere where you will be given the tools and support that you need to succeed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage all warehouse activities including picking, shipping, receiving, storing, packing, returns, inventory control and all areas associated with the basic function of warehousing and distribution. Ensure accurate and timely shipments and receipts. Maintain strict inventory control and keep stock control systems up to date. Manage priorities and workflow to achieve maximum efficiencies and results. Liaise with transport companies to achieve best rates and service. Produce regular reports and statistics on a weekly and monthly basis. Develop and update S.O.P.'s (Standard Operating Procedures). Organize the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress. Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded. Lead and perform physical labor as necessary. Effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds. Maintain standards of health, safety, hygiene, cleanliness and security in the work environment. Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment. Timely attention to all building maintenance issues including grounds maintenance, trash disposal, clean-up, work area changes etc.
Experience and Key Competencies:
Experience:
Three + years of experience managing a warehouse is preferred (will consider smart eager candidates who are willing to learn and be trained).
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as supply chain, logistics, operational or transport management is preferred.
Language:
English and Spanish fluency required. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Tech Skills:
Excel/Word/Microsoft Suite is mandatory. Experience using UPS/Fedex platform is a plus. Experience using any warehouse management system is considered a big plus.
Inventory:
Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
Other Skills:
Displays passion and optimism as a leader, exceptional attention to detail, strong planning and organizational skills , inspires respect and motivates others, conserves organizational resources when assessing new warehouse needs. Dependable, trust worthy and completes task on time.
Equipment Skills:
Ability to operate forklift effectively. Must be currently certified.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 75lbs. We offer a competitive salary and benefits. Monday through Friday work week - no nights, occasional weekends when needed.
