In this pivotal role, you will oversee the receipt, inspection, and proper storage of incoming shipments, ensuring seamless coordination with logistics, inventory management, and warehouse teams. Your leadership will drive process improvements, uphold safety standards, and maintain accurate inventory control to support our fast-paced distribution environment. Duties Supervise daily receiving activities, including unloading trucks, inspecting shipments, and verifying delivery accuracy using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as AS400. Manage inventory control procedures to ensure accurate stock levels and proper storage of materials, utilizing inventory management tools and systems. Lead and motivate a team of warehouse associates, providing training on materials handling, heavy lifting safety, forklift operation, and OSHA compliance. Coordinate with logistics providers and 3PL partners to schedule deliveries and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in shipping & receiving workflows, reducing errors and increasing throughput. Conduct regular safety audits in accordance with OSHA standards to maintain a safe working environment for all team members. Oversee the use of mechanical equipment such as forklifts for heavy lifting tasks while ensuring proper certification and safety protocols are followed. Requirements Proven experience in warehouse supervision, with a strong background in inventory management and warehouse distribution. Hands-on experience operating forklifts and other materials handling equipment; forklift certification preferred. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 or similar platforms, and logistics software. Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively within fast-paced environments involving shipping & receiving operations. Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety, heavy lifting, and materials handling. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory control and process improvement initiatives. Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment maintenance is a plus.
