Job Description
Shipping & Receiving Coordinator The purpose of this job description is to provide a high-level overview of the role, scope and responsibilities The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is responsible for verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, assembling, stamping, and shipping merchandise, receiving and unpacking incoming goods, preparing merchandise for shipping; and organizing the transportation of goods as well as verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments involving inventory. He/She will work closely with logistics personnel, including drivers, warehouse staff, foremen, supply chain managers, and freight agents. This position requires full commitment and support for promoting ethical and compliant culture, and willingness to speak up when have concerns. He/She must understand in detail the policies of the organization and make sure to adhere to them. Understanding of health and safety regulations, great communication skills and interpersonal skills; and basic math and recording abilities. The below is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and further tasks and duties might be added/changed as necessary at any time. Essential functions
- Receives the shipment of materials, goods and other supplies. Ensuring all products are labeled correctly.
- Records and tracks all incoming outgoing shipments, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Owns the relationships between shipping merchants and traders and negotiating freight charges
- Acts as liaison between clients and shipping companies to resolve any complaints
- Coordinates best shipping method and cost. Prepares orders and load trucks, with multiple products, in accordance to prepare invoices and BOL's.
- Prints shipping labels for local and worldwide distribution with FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc
- Obtains freight quotes from various
TL & LTL
carriers and negotiate rates for larger ongoing jobs.- Pulls finish product to fill orders and ship using common carrier, pallet, LTL truck, or international container.
- Directs inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or logistics quality management.
- Skids, bands, & wraps some orders for truck delivery or paper & tapes others to send out
- Warehouse condenses, QC, and stocks.
- Supervises the loading and unloading of shipping vessels and executing stevedoring activities
- Determines the most efficient methods of shipping and routes for courier services
- Schedules loads and processes shipping paperwork Other Duties
- All employees must be familiar with AS9100 standard.
- All employees must be familiar with the
ISO14001
standard.- All employees must be familiar with the standards, policies and procedures pertaining to their position.
- Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Ability to utilize an inventory management system
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills (English and Spanish);
- Able to work independently as well as with others
- Ability to prioritize personal workload to maintain company initiatives and applicable timelines.
- Dependable and organized
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and comply with strict time frames and deadlines
- Experience in Multimodal and international logistics
- Well organized, professional, self-motivated, innovative, communicative
- Outstanding attention to detail Preferred Education and Experience
- A High School Diploma or GED required
- 1+ years of experience in Shipping/Receiving functions
- 1+ years of Quantum Control experience
- Read/understand ENG drawings Physical Requirements This position is a physically demanding position to be able to assemble, fold and test large and heavy inflatable products and materials:
- Must be able to lift and handle up to 75 pounds at times
- Able and certified to operate a forklift
- Must be able to reach at or below shoulder level, reach overhead, push or pull, lift or carry, and kneel at times.
