Job Description

The Shipping/Receiving/Material Handling Team Lead will report to the Materials Supervisor and will be required to provide daily direct leadership and support to all shipping, receiving and material handling personnel. This individual will be in the supervised activities where necessary to help expedite on-time completion of projects. The purpose of this position is to assist the Materials Supervisor by being in overseeing all phases of the material handling supervised activities. This position, in accordance with our Core Principles , requires genuine integrity in all aspects of fulfilling its duties: Honor God / People First / Servant Leadership / Teamwork.
Scope of Responsibilities and Duties:
The Team Lead must oversee the unloading, receiving, storage, movement and shipping of any materials. Requires the ability to organize and efficiently move materials using all material handling equipment shop-wide. (forklifts/overhead cranes) The Team Lead must constantly work to keep materials easily available for active projects while placing scrap, drop and inactive materials in appropriate locations for storage and disposal. Responsible to move materials into Processing area as required. Responsible to move prefabricated parts into weld areas as required. Responsible to move completed weldments through the finishing process as required. Responsible to place completed work order parts (projects) into temporary storage locations as directed by the Materials Supervisor.
Key Objectives to ensure success:
Communicating on all levels is critical at this position. Communicating to supervisors about timing of moving materials to meet shop needs; and for shipping of the correct materials and equipment on ship days. The Team Lead will assist in assigning available manpower to efficiently meet processes, work flow and completion schedules of projects. Monitor progress of each team member to ensure they are completing their scope accurately.

Maintain a sense of urgency to keep projects moving forward. It is extremely important that you know what takes priority.

Do not assume something is being taken care of - confirm it!! One of your primary functions will be "supervising by walking around" on the campus at all times. You will be available to fill gaps and ensure task keep moving forward, and even training when necessary. It is critical that you remain pro-active in your role. Being pro-active means visiting workstations throughout the day to ensure we are winning on each job by maintaining accuracy and budget hours. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics roles with a focus on shipping & receiving operations Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes and inventory control systems Hands-on experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and order pickers; forklift certification is preferred Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and data entry tasks Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive work environment Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order accuracy Knowledge of load & unload procedures, order picking & packing best practices, and safety standards in a warehouse setting
Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour
