Full-Time Position Summary The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all shipping and finished goods warehouse operations within a poultry processing facility. This role ensures the safe, accurate, and timely shipment of fresh and frozen poultry products while maintaining compliance with USDA, HACCP, food safety, quality, and company standards. The Shipping Supervisor will lead warehouse personnel, coordinate outbound logistics, manage inventory accuracy, and work closely with production, transportation, customer service, and quality assurance teams to meet customer requirements and operational goals. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily shipping, warehousing, and distribution activities. Lead, coach, and develop shipping and warehouse team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives. Ensure all customer orders are picked, staged, loaded, and shipped accurately and on schedule. Coordinate with production, planning, and transportation teams to optimize product flow and minimize delays. Monitor inventory levels and ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reconciliation processes. Verify proper product rotation using
FIFO/FEFO
inventory practices. Ensure compliance with USDA, HACCP, SQF/BRC, GMP, and company food safety requirements. Conduct daily safety inspections and enforce safe work practices. Review shipping documentation, bills of lading, manifests, and regulatory records for accuracy. Manage refrigerated and frozen storage operations while maintaining temperature control standards. Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, inventory variances, and customer service issues. Monitor labor utilization and overtime while meeting departmental performance goals. Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure material handling equipment remains operational. Track and report departmental KPIs including: On-time shipments Order accuracy Inventory accuracy Labor efficiency Safety performance Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED. 3+ years of experience in shipping, warehousing, or logistics operations. 1+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience. Experience working in a food manufacturing, poultry processing, meat processing, or cold storage environment. Knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse management systems (WMS). Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field. Knowledge of USDA regulations and food safety standards. Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment. Experience using SAP, JD Edwards, AS400, or similar ERP systems. #JDP
