GENERAL FUNCTION
The Assistant Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations of various distribution departments for all products, operations, staff and packing functionsMAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises, plans, organizes and solves problems for distribution departmental functions. Schedules staff and monitors daily operations and department plans. Conducts interviews for new hire associates and makes recommendations. Monitors daily operations to business and department plans. Performs performance evaluations and provides associate guidance as needed. Monitors and performs follow-up for associate accuracy. Conducts audits to ensure associate accuracy. Communicates daily with the operations manager. Conducts training for newly hired associates.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High School or GED 2+ years performing increasingly diversified duties within a logistics/distribution environment Experience operating power equipment Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as requested by management Understanding and use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs. Ability to work independently Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to interact professionally with both corporate and non-corporate personnel Ability to be flexible and adjust to shifting priorities based on business needs Excellent math aptitude/numerical recognition Excellent communication skillsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree Previous supervisory experience within a distribution/logistics environmentSpecific Skills Needed:
- Ability to work independently
- Application of Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Facilitate a safe work environment
- Must be highly organized
- Must be flexible and able to adjust with shifting priorities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
- Proven track record of individual accomplishment, contribution and team based success
- Self-motivated with high sense of urgency, resourcefulness and adaptability
- Strong computer skills in MS Office, MS Project or equivalent, Minitab or equivalent statistical package
- Strong statistical skills, problem solving and data analysis
- Strong Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate and listen at all levels Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor degree
- 3+ years' experience in logistics
- 3+ year's supervisory experience Required Years of Experience
