Job Description
Distribution Team Leader Frist shift About the Company Sugar Foods is a privately owned company with production facilities in Georgia, Massachusetts, California, and Mexico. Our products are sold and distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada. Sugar Foods manufactures and packages croutons, tortilla chips, crispy toppings, as well as cheese-based toppings. Additionally, Sugar Foods packages a variety of items including sugar, sweeteners, powdered creamer, and dried fruits and nuts. Responsible for ensuring safety in the plant. Identifies unsafe conditions/acts and takes an active part in implementing corrective action. 1. Ensures completion of all safety training. Monitors building security/safety and works in a safe manner. 2. Unloading freight and handling production transfers using RF and Material Handling Equipment. 3. Completing receiving documents, transfer forms, pallet exchange forms and BOLs. 4. Ensures that inventory changes are properly handled. 5. Accessing computer for material status and filling out forklift inspection report. 6. Driving propane or battery operated forklifts to load/unload trailers, stocking and pulling orders. 7. Properly rotating raw and packaging materials upon receipt and when returning to storage after use. 8. Wrapping and preparing finished goods for shipping and assists with UPS/labeling duties. 9. Ensures efficient use of resources to maximize labor savings. 10. Demonstrates ownership of warehouse inventory (includes preparation for physical inventory). 11. Ensures full compliance of GMP s, housekeeping and floor organization. 12. Obtain proper material for repacking product, report product as assigned. Leads by example by demonstrating superior interpersonal skills and the desire to build a team to excel. Works effectively with workers in a constructive and positive manner Promotes Sugar Food s Core Values and Team Principles. 13. Wears/maintains all required safety equipment (Proper Protective Equipment) Adheres to company policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Code of Safe Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and Lockout/Tagout/Blockout Procedures. Maintains a quality-oriented attitude in the workplace. Listens to and objectively considers ideas and suggestions from others. Respects workers in actions, words and deeds. Other warehouse duties as directed by Team Leader, including training and conduction safety meetings. Ability to read and write English. 2. Ability to perform simple math (add, subtract, divide and multiply using a calculator). 3. Must be able to work effectively with others. 4. 1-2 years previous forklift driving experience. 5. Ability to use hand carts/pallet jacks (electric and manual). 6. Knowledge of pallet tie and high. 7. 1-2 years of previous Management experience. 8. Must adhere to
