A Warehouse or Distribution Supervisor manages daily operations at a warehouse. Hires, trains, and supervises warehouse staff, oversees inventory and the distribution of materials to and from the warehouse.
The Outbound Supervisor oversees all outbound shipping operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective shipment of goods. This role is responsible for supervising outbound associates, maintaining shipping schedules, and coordinating with internal departments to meet customer delivery expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise daily outbound shipping operations to ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time. Monitor workflow, assign tasks, and ensure proper staffing levels for outbound shifts. Promote and ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and shipping standards. Collaborate with Inventory, Transportation, and Customer Service teams to coordinate timely deliveries. Troubleshoot order issues, shipping errors, or delays, and implement corrective actions. Train, mentor, and coach outbound associates; conduct performance evaluations. Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and scanners. Monitor KPIs related to accuracy, on-time shipping, labor productivity, and quality control. Maintain documentation for shipments, including BOLs, manifests, and tracking records. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in outbound operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
: Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in warehouse or distribution center operations. 1+ year in a leadership or supervisory role preferred. Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), scanning equipment, and shipping software. Strong organizational and communication skills - attention to details. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Forklift certification (or ability to become certified). Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
