Job Description

Summary Summary Is the go-to/charge person in the absence of the Supervisor/Manager. Responsible for assisting with training staff, providing input on co-worker performance/disciplinary issues, and providing input on hiring decisions. Serves as a resource/expert to other staff members. Under the direction of the department manager/supervisor, and in collaboration with perioperative manager, responsible for oversight of the planning, organization, maintenance and documentation of crucial surgical supplies needed within the Perioperative environment. Works in collaboration with the surgery and SCORe teams to ensure the needs of the patient, surgeon and perioperative team are met in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner. Utilizes the inventory management system to validate accurate patient charging occurs. Is responsible for working in robust and challenging supply management systems managing product conversions in support of the surgical teams, promoting financial stewardship by reducing waste. Holds primary responsibility for the integrity of the perioperative inventory management system. Performs all necessary non-clinical duties for stocked supplies within the perioperative department to ensure that stocking levels are appropriate and meets clinical needs. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients, patient families, coworkers and physicians. Is responsible for the delivery of quality performance and service excellence. Education Must be a high school graduate or equivalent GED. Licensure/Certification Must have a valid Indiana State driver's license. Experience Inventory and POU (point of use) systems inventory experience, in a OR setting, is required. Shipping and receiving experience preferred. WMS and DMS inventory systems experience preferred.
