Job Title:
Shipping Administrator Job Description The Shipping Administrator supports daily shipping and inventory operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures accurate order processing, effective inventory control, and on-time customer deliveries by managing documentation, coordinating with internal teams, and maintaining organized shipping workflows. The position offers strong opportunities for growth in logistics and ERP systems, along with a stable workload and competitive benefits once hired full time. Responsibilities Generate and manage Bills of Lading (BOL) using ERP systems to support accurate and compliant shipments. Perform inventory control functions, including cycle counting, reconciliation, and documentation of discrepancies. Create, verify, and update pick lists to ensure order accuracy and timely shipment of customer orders. Support all shipping and receiving processes with a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail. Coordinate with internal teams such as production, customer service, and logistics to meet customer delivery timelines. Maintain organization within a high-volume shipping environment, including proper labeling, staging, and documentation of outbound and inbound materials. Ensure compliance with company procedures and shipping standards for all outbound and inbound freight. Perform accurate data entry related to shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions in ERP and Microsoft Office tools. Handle basic material handling tasks related to shipping and receiving, as needed, to support workflow. Provide responsive and professional customer service to internal stakeholders regarding order status, shipping details, and inventory availability. Monitor daily workload and proactively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and customer demand. Assist with continuous improvement efforts in shipping, receiving, and inventory processes. Essential Skills Recent, stable work history in shipping and receiving or administrative operations. Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Experience using an ERP system (for example, Sage) for shipping or inventory functions. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams. Solid organizational skills to manage documentation, inventory records, and shipping schedules. Ability to perform accurate data entry related to logistics, shipping, and inventory. Capability to pass pre-employment requirements, including drug screen, background check, and basic measurement/test assessment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in inventory control activities such as cycle counting and reconciliation. background in logistics, order selection, and material handling within a manufacturing or distribution setting. Customer service experience supporting internal or external stakeholders in a shipping or operations role. Comfort working in a hands-on, independent role with responsibility for daily shipping and inventory tasks. Interest in growing skills in logistics and ERP systems. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and occasional short-notice overtime. Strong problem-solving skills to resolve shipping, inventory, or documentation discrepancies. Work Environment This role operates in a combined manufacturing and office setting within a stable, high-demand environment. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, averaging approximately 50 hours per week, with overtime as needed to meet customer demand. Occasional overtime may be required with limited notice. You will work with ERP systems, Microsoft Office tools, and standard material handling and shipping equipment while supporting high-volume shipping and receiving operations. The position offers fast pay progression within the first year, strong overtime earning potential including double-time incentives, full benefits after 30 days once hired full time, and a 401(k) plan with company match once full time. The work is hands-on and independent, providing opportunities for growth in logistics and ERP system expertise in a structured, process-driven environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frankfort, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
