Shipping Supervisor

OVERVIEW

:: We are currently recruiting a Shipping Supervisor for our Farmerville, LA location.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

:: Overseeing the daily operations of the Shipping department Ensuring safety procedures are being adhered to Setting goals and following up on the progress of those goals Enabling associates to be cross trained within the Shipping department Verifying all paperwork is completed correctly and turned in daily Training and retaining employees in a positive and professional manner Maintaining product integrity Ensuring trucks are loaded properly, efficiently and with urgency Verifying the cleanliness of the cooler, dock and all Shipping grounds are maintained in an acceptable manner.

REQUIREMENTS

:: High School Diploma or equivalent Operate a floor jack and have a basic knowledge of loading Read and understand necessary reports Ability to perform all the functions of the Clerk in their absence Communicate instructions to the yard driver as well as Security Prior Supervisory experience in food distribution is helpful Effective coordination between Shipping and Production Possess the ability to effectively train associates for retention.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Bachelor's degree. Food Manufacturing experience.

Work Environment:

Work is normally performed in a sub-zero freezer/warehouse/production environment. As part of the job requirements, employee will be exposed to working in a warehouse setting with cold temperature (-20) at times.
