Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an energetic and strategic Materials Management Director to lead and optimize our supply chain and materials operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee procurement, inventory control, production planning, and logistics to ensure seamless material flow across manufacturing and distribution processes. Your leadership will drive efficiency, cost savings, and supplier relationships, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of materials management within a dynamic organization committed to innovation and growth.Duties/Responsibilities:
- The director shall accurately prepare bi-weekly payroll and submit to payroll by established deadlines. Director is responsible for following all HR guidelines in managing staff.
- Responsible for monitoring and evaluating Continuous Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities. Record QA data monthly for quarterly report. Prepare QA report and submit to QA director by deadlines given.
- Purchase supplies within departmental and hospital policies including processing of requisitions, monitoring pricing, and obtaining competitive pricing through negotiation and price comparison utilizing hospital purchasing agreement. These duties are performed in a timely manner.
- Monitors and expedites receipt of goods. Initiates communication with vendors to assure prompt delivery of goods. Follows up on backorders in a timely manner. Contacts vendor if product is unsatisfactory.
- Responsible for restocking of supplies in Emergency Room, Nursing Service, DME room and Endo. Restocking of purchasing shelves. Filling supply orders from all hospital departments.
- Responsible for rotation and checking and removal of all expired supplies in Purchasing, Housekeeping, Central Supply and Nursing supply room.
- Responsible for outgoing shipping for hospital supplies when needed.
- Ensuring sharps containers are collected on regular schedule.
- Maintaining proper paperwork including filing, processing, verifying purchase orders and maintaining all records necessary within the Purchasing/CS department. Assisting Accounts Payable with invoice distribution from the purchase orders.
- Responsible for annual pricing and inventory control.
- Responsible for department financials including working with CFO to prepare annual budget, monitor performance during the year, and preparedness during the budget review process.
- Responsible for making outside runs to purchase supplies when need arises and getting proper paperwork signatures in timely manner.
- Uses hospital system to post monthly material management information.
- Other duties as assigned by Administration.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
- Ability to work independently.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Management experience required.
