ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists in the hiring and training of dock staff and warehouse associates. Assists in the unloading and loading of freight when necessary. Oversee and lead a team of dock associates and warehouse associates. Oversee dock operations to ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading of all freight. Conducts daily inspections, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and internal laws, regulations, and policies. Assist with development and execution of continuous improvement initiatives Perform conflict and issue resolution management as needed Manage daily end-of-shift reports, as well as performance updates Work directly with Customer(s), on-site Performs other related duties as assignedREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements and other related safety policies and best practices. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to monitor and maintain records (Excel preferred). Working in a union environment preffered.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous supervisory or warehouse experience preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods standing and up to four hours per shift sitting and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in hot and cold climatesBenefits
