Help Drive the Operation Behind One of West Michigan's Leading Production Teams At Lakeside Surfaces, we don't just manufacture countertops — we build products that end up in homes, businesses, and projects across the region, and our Shipping team plays a critical role in making that happen. As our company continues to grow, we're looking for a Shipping Coordinator who can bring urgency, organization, accuracy, and leadership to a fast-paced production environment. SUMMARY The Shipping Coordinator oversees and participates in daily shipping operations, ensuring all installation and delivery trucks are accurately loaded, staged, and dispatched on time. This role provides leadership, direction, and support to the shipping team while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. ________________________________________
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead daily shipping operations, including planning, prioritizing, and coordinating workflow to meet production and delivery schedules Load and secure product onto a-frames and into delivery trucks ensuring safe transport Verify product accuracy by job number, color, and specifications prior to shipment Ensure all shipments are staged, double-checked, and ready to meet customer delivery expectations Provide direction and support to team members, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and reinforcing accountability Serve as the primary point of contact between shipping, production, project coordination and field services to ensure alignment on job expectations Maintain and enforce adherence to checklists, processes, and company policies Identify and resolve issues proactively, including missing materials, incorrect staging, or schedule conflicts Drive organization and cleanliness of the shipping area, including ownership of 5S standards Support training and onboarding of new team members and assist in developing team capabilities Ensure compliance with all safety standards and promote a culture of safe work practices Load/unload product from tables onto carts to support production workflow Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager ________________________________________
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in production manufacturing, shipping, or truck loading Demonstrated ability to lead or direct work in a team environment Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Experience with solid surfaces is a plus Proactive, dependable, and positive attitude with strong communication skills ________________________________________
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Prior leadership or lead experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment Experience coordinating shipping schedules and working cross-functionally with operations teams ________________________________________
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. Ability to work while standing for 8 to 12 hour shifts Ability to move and carry substantial parts on varied surfaces Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to safely operate forklift and overhead crane Ability to follow all safety requirements Ability to use measuring tools ________________________________________
