Job Description

Since 1979, Washington Metal Fabricators headquartered in Washington, MO has provided fabrication and precision machining services to a highly diversified client base including the HVAC, commercial, consumer products, and agriculture industries. Washington Metal Fabricators operates within 5 individual facilities centrally located in the heart of the Midwest (Missouri) with over 156,000 square feet of production space. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to manage the daily shipping and receiving operations in our metal manufacturing facility. This role ensures that incoming and outgoing shipments are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with safety standards. Forklift certification is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee incoming and outgoing shipments, including loading and unloading trucks. Inspect incoming materials and verify accuracy of shipments against packing slips, bills of lading, and purchase orders. Prepare shipping documents, labels, and records using shipping software and ERP systems. Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory counts. Ensure proper packaging and labeling of outgoing materials. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to move, stack, and organize materials. Communicate effectively with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve discrepancies. Maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving area in compliance with safety regulations. Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Valid forklift certification is required. 2+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or metalworking environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to use computers and shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS, ERP systems). Basic math skills and ability to accurately complete shipping documentation. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in warehouse conditions.
Work Environment:
Industrial warehouse/manufacturing setting. Exposure to loud noise, heavy equipment, and varying temperatures. Requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
