The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for a Warehouse Coordinator in our Fleet Maintenance department to coordinate the day-to-day operations and activities of the parts and cart warehouse including receipt, storage, issuance of various parts, supplies, materials and equipment; to obtain quotes on fuel and inventory items; to manage daily activities at the fuel depot and work closely with staff on procurement of parts and supplies; and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. Coordinate the day-to-day operations and activities of the parts warehouse, including the receipt, storage, and issuance of various parts, supplies and equipment, including: changes in inventory; basic ordering; quantities and frequency of orders; data inventory data maintenance activities; obtaining competitive quotes for inventory items in accordance with established purchasing procedures; preparing and processing requisitions and related documents; maintaining the warehouse in a clean, efficient and organized manner; maintaining the security of the warehouse and parts; and, performing other related activities. Coordinate and monitor roll cart inventory, including: developing and maintaining cart tracking system; inventorying carts; preparing monthly reports on cart activity; coordinate and participate in loading and unloading roll carts and parts; inputting serial numbers into applicable database; and, performing other related activities. May coordinate and maintain assigned fuel depot, which includes: monitoring automated fuel system usage; maintaining functionality of the fueling pumps and equipment; ordering fuel as needed and monitoring deliveries; scheduling preventive maintenance; assisting with cleaning the site, preparing for site inspections; and, performing other related activities. Oversee and verify the stock, invoice and delivery of supplies, services and equipment; inspect purchased goods and services to ensure conformance with specifications; verify incoming shipments for appropriate quantity and quality; investigate and resolve vendor discrepancies such as shortages, overages and damaged supplies; ensure proper storage of surplus supplies and equipment. Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; implement approved policies and procedures. Coordinate and assist in the loading and unloading of supplies. Establish schedules and methods for providing services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; coordinate the use of resources accordingly. Coordinate and participate in the issuance of inventory and equipment; oversee the stocking and replenishment of stored supplies. Prepare requisitions, purchase orders and prepare invoices. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience :
Three years of increasingly responsible warehousing, supply, or purchasing work.
Training :
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training or college coursework in purchasing, warehousing, business administration, marketing or a related field.
LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS
Required:
Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license and ability to maintain insurability.
Preferred:
Forklift certification; Basic Principles of Local Government Purchasing certification; Inventory Control certification; Warehouse Principles certification; Computer certification. From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last approximately 4 - 6 weeks .
