Position Overview:
The Shipping Team Lead is responsible for coordinating workflow, leading a team of shipping associates, ensuring on-time customer deliveries, maintaining inventory accuracy, and promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, and is committed to operational excellence and employee development.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support daily shipping operations to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on time.
- Coordinate work assignments and staffing to meet productivity and service goals.
- Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and training to shipping associates.
- Monitor workflow and adjust priorities to meet changing business demands.
- Ensure compliance with Eaton safety policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
- Conduct regular safety observations and promote a culture of safe work practices.
- Partner with supervisors and other department leaders to resolve operational issues and improve processes.
- Maintain accurate shipping documentation and system transactions.
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, inventory issues, and customer service concerns.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, quality, on-time shipping, and safety metrics.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or other operational excellence methodologies.
- Participate in employee performance discussions and recognition activities.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 1 year of leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience.
- Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or RF scanning technology.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in a high-volume distribution center.
- Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Lean Distribution, or Continuous Improvement principles.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull materials up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
