Job Title:
Shipping Lead Job Description The Warehouse/Shipping Lead oversees daily warehouse and shipping operations to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient movement of products. This role leads and supports warehouse associates, coordinates inbound and outbound shipments, maintains inventory accuracy, and upholds safety and quality standards. The position suits a hands-on leader with experience in warehouse logistics who can drive productivity in a fast-paced, small warehouse environment. Responsibilities Lead and support warehouse and shipping team members in daily operations, providing direction and guidance throughout the shift. Oversee inbound and outbound shipping activities to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient movement of products. Ensure accurate documentation for all shipments, including shipping labels, packing lists, and related records. Maintain inventory accuracy through regular counts, proper storage, and effective inventory control practices. Monitor productivity, quality, and safety standards, and take corrective action when necessary. Coordinate and participate in shipping and receiving activities, including loading, unloading, and staging products. Supervise picking and packing operations to ensure orders are fulfilled correctly and on time. Use data entry and RF scanners to record inventory movements and shipment details in warehouse systems. Train employees on warehouse procedures, safety practices, and use of equipment and systems. Assist with scheduling staff and planning workflow to meet operational demands and deadlines. Troubleshoot operational issues related to shipping, receiving, and inventory, and implement process improvements. Collaborate with other departments as needed to resolve shipment or inventory discrepancies. Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety and quality standards. Essential Skills Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse, shipping, or logistics operations. Demonstrated lead or supervisory experience in a warehouse or shipping environment. Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes. Proficiency in picking and packing orders accurately and efficiently. Inventory control experience, including counting, tracking, and maintaining stock accuracy. Data entry skills for recording shipments and inventory transactions. Experience using RF scanners in a warehouse setting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and support a team. Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload. Effective problem-solving skills to address operational issues and improve processes. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs as part of daily warehouse activities. Ability to stand for long periods of time while performing warehouse duties. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous leadership or supervisory experience in warehouse, shipping, or logistics is preferred. Forklift experience is a plus. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus. Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are beneficial for communicating with a diverse team. Experience working in a small warehouse environment is an advantage. Why Work Here? The setting is hands-on and collaborative, with close interaction among team members to keep operations running smoothly. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rocky Hill, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
