GENERAL SUMMARY
Works under the supervision of the Materials Manager. The Distribution Coordinator's primary job function is to receive all incoming shipments. Ensures proper delivery of all incoming materials and equipment. Coordinates with the Accounting department daily to process invoices electronically through
MEDITECH
materials system. Utilizes the UPS and FedEx inbound and outbound shipment systems. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required Vocational training with emphasis in Computer Technology preferred
Licensure:
BLS/AED training course within 90 days of hire required BMVL required (must maintain eligibility to drive determined by SOMC insurance carriers).
Experience:
Previous experience in stock and distribution procedures preferred.
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Receives shipments of materials and equipment by comparing packing slips to delivery documents and what is documented in Meditech. 2. Coordinates with Accounts Payable to process invoices on daily basis. 3. Coordinates delivery pickups of shipments to departments with Materials Management drivers. 4. Schedules deliveries and determines appropriate location- Capital Renovation Project. 5. Processes returns to manufacturers and outgoing overnight priority shipments by maintaining log sheets of all returns. 6. Labels and maintains log of all hazardous chemicals received. 7. Certified to use motorized pallet jack and roll lifts to move large items. 8. Calls priority mail deliverers to schedule pick up. Responsible for maintaining receiving materials handling equipment in a safe operational condition with attention to batteries of power equipment. 9. Maintains a safe, clean, and organized environment. 10. Provides back up coverage for ICS I & II and file storage management system. 11. Oversees and manages the UPS + FedEx Software Systems. 12. Coordinates all capital and renovation shipments. Manages all equipment and coordinates delivery to contractor and mover per renovation schedule. 13. Coordinates with companies and hospital's departments for all capital equipment and renovation project shipments. 14. Assemble various incoming equipment for various departments. 15. Maintains and manages COVID, Flu, and Strep Test kits for Lab Administration. 16. Provides backup for postage mailing. 17. Utilizes electronic delivery application daily to secure confirmations of deliveries to departments. 18. Provides backup for Distribution Drivers, if needed. 19. Performs other duties as assigned.
