Route Foremen are responsible for assisting management in overseeing a group of drivers to ensure safe and productive services to customers. Route Foremen assist with ensuring routes are complete, drivers' observations are complete, and ensuring resolution of customer issues and missed stops.

Responsibilities of Position:

Assist management with the daily activities of route drivers including driver observations, lot inspections, Vehicle Safety Inspections, auditing and maintenance of routes Ensure routes are completed by assigned driver or utility driver; run routes as needed Manage missed stops by working cooperatively with dispatch, drivers and/or office staff to resolve issues Assist with assigning and tracking daily work orders to drivers Ensure drivers complete paperwork in accordance with DOT regulations and company policy Assist with the resolution of customer service issues Maintain a thorough understanding of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations to determine when a DOT log is required and provide assistance to drivers in accurately completing the log, if necessary Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded Ensure completion of daily routes and ensure that all productivity goals are met or exceeded Assist with delivery of containers Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections and completes logs Maintain and updates drivers' log sheets Assist with minor accident investigation and manage accident reporting, including upload photos and relevant documentation Perform other duties as assigned

1-2 years' experience driving with CDL required; lead role experience preferred Knowledge of area with the ability to read maps Must have knowledge of

Regular Workday:

Continuously lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 75 lbs Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 100 lbs Continuously working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions Continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter Continuously stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling Continuously climbing and/or balancing Continuously sitting/standing/walking

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:

Must have at least a valid Class B CDL Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire Must be at least 19 years of age No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas Exposure to residential and commercial waste Ability to travel between offices, as required Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays Legally eligible to work in the United States Valid driver's license (if applicable) Must successfully complete pre-employment testing Must be able to read and speak the English language This job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity, and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required.
