The Line Captain oversees production line functions and resources to ensure products are delivered on schedule while meeting all quality, cost, and safety targets. AM Responsibilities:
Line Leadership & Resource Management:
Manage production line functions and resources to meet quality, cost, and schedule targets. Assign workers to line positions following the play sheet and manage worker rotations throughout the shift.
Quality & Efficiency Control:
Ensure production quality continuously meets facility specifications. Manage product line quality, availability, and overall affordability while maintaining efficient line flow.
Staff Mentoring & Task Prioritization:
Provide direct mentoring to team leads and promote a culture of peer mentoring across staff. Create priority work lists for personnel to maximize time utilization and individual capabilities.
Operational & Administrative Support:
Assist administrative staff with line changeover procedures. Perform production line duties on a temporary basis only when necessary to cover open positions.
Communication & Problem Solving:
Communicate performance issues, line updates, and continuous improvement ideas directly to supervisors and area managers.
Working hours:
Various Shifts Available Skills:
Experience leading teams or directing shift workers in a light industrial or plant environment. Ability to interpret and execute daily production play sheets accurately. Interpersonal communication skills for training, mentoring, and escalating shift concerns.
Education:
High School Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
General Education high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Prior experience working on a manufacturing or production line. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
