Stillwater, OK Position Summary:
Shipping/Receiving Supervisor This is a safety-sensitive position! Purpose of the Job This position leads and coordinates all shipping and receiving activities in its area in the best conditions of safety, quality and cost consciousness within the proposed work environment and with the best possible human relationships. This position takes the necessary actions to guarantee the requested production levels while developing and implementing continuous improvement in all its aspects.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Oversee all Shipping / Receiving activities including management, coaching and training of personnel, processes, and equipment. Provides leadership for employees through effective communications. Assists in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives. Helps establish and enforce company rules and safety procedures to assure a clean (5S) and safe work environment is promoted and maintained including reporting, investigation and analysis of near misses and incidents. Initiating, encouraging, and performing continuous improvement initiatives (lean) Maintains storage area by organizing floor space, adhering to storage design principles. Recommends improvements. Ensures adherence to packaging work instructions and successful delivery of parts to customers in the most cost-effective way without compromising quality. Maintain positive relationships with freight companies while implementing the most cost-effective option for both domestic and international shipments. Manage damaged and/or lost shipments. Manages policy deployment in the areas of continuous improvement, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, and plant performance measures. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations Addresses performance-related issues. Other duties as assigned
Education:
Associates Degree in a related technical field or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory role, preferably in shipping and receiving. Knowledge and experience of problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level. Familiar with ERP systems. Must have in-depth knowledge of customs, distribution, and warehousing. Able to motivate people. Positive Attitude, Ethics, which support our company's values and a healthy, high-performance culture.
Skilled as a people manager:
from coaching to discipline. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Basic computer skills:
Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Experience with web-based time and attendance software, a plus. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet required deadlines. Must be eligible/authorized to work in the United States, currently and in the future.
