Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Oversees the daily operations of the Shipping Department for both divisions at the Medford Complex. Coordinates with various manufacturing personnel, other divisions, and sales to meet shipping deadlines. Monitors the truck scheduling program communicating with and through TP Trucking and the Operations Managers for Medford Particleboard and Plywood.
MAJOR TASKS
Responsible for managing all Medford Complex warehouse and shipping activities including scheduling operations and shifts, training, performance coaching and disciplinary actions. Manages hourly employees in the Shipping Department and is responsible for tracking attendance, addressing performance issues, and delivering and tracking safety training. Manages Shipping Department supplies and inventories. Schedules railcars for both divisions by direct communication with Rail Corp. and UP for monitoring car availability and record keeping. Maintains and upholds TP safety policies, training and performance standards for all Shipping Department employees. Responsible for payroll time entry for all Shipping Department employees. Strong communication skills. Use proper email and phone etiquette towards staff, vendors, and customers within the company and outside of the company. Maintains record keeping, performs data entry, tracks and maintains department KPI's. Maintains a current knowledge of intercompany transfers and multi-mill orders. Participates in leading inventory management by participating in both HWP and PB finish goods monthly inventory. Performs routine cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
A BA/BS degree in production management, business administration, or related field preferred, but not required. Two - four years of supervisory and production scheduling experience, preferably in wood products or other manufacturing environments. High level of comfort in rapidly changing environment. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions and concerns. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment. Leadership and motivational skills that allow employees to achieve productivity, quality and safety goals. Strong computer skills and comfort in operating within various computer environments.
