Job Description
Job Summary The Warehouse Shipping Operations Specialist leads daily warehouse activities, including order fulfillment, inventory handling, equipment operation, and shipping/receiving. This role ensures accuracy, safety, and efficiency while supporting team coordination, customer service, and continuous improvement within a food-safe environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide daily direction to assigned Material Handlers. Pick, pack, palletize, label, and wrap all order types. Operate box making equipment and follow Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures. Receive and put-away inbound shipments, returns from customers, and stock transfers. Pull and load outbound customer orders. Perform shipping office tasks. Assist supervisors with prioritizing work. Identify and pursue continuous process improvement. Rotate inventory by production date code, ship oldest date codes first. Perform the forklift inspection on a daily basis and report any problems to the supervisor. Ensure daily production count is accurate. Ensure that partial pallets are stacked, stowed, and pallet slips are accurate. Perform month end physical inventory and cycle counts as assigned by supervisor to ensure physical inventories matches book inventory. Replenish propane gas tanks. Inspect trailers for damage, dirt, or odor and complete inspection sheet before loading each trailer. Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice guidelines. Observe and follow all safety rules and company policies. Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ years of related experience to include the knowledge of the safety guidelines for electrical and/or propane powered forklifts
- Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines and practices
- Microsoft Office proficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
- Warehouse management system and/or ERP system (NAV, SAP, Korber) experience.
