POSITION OBJECTIVE
: This hybrid role, based at the Belle Chasse location, combines Parts Coordination with Shipping & Receiving responsibilities to support both internal operations and external customer needs. The position assists shop supervision and collaborates with the Service Coordinator by ordering, receiving, organizing, optimizing, and selling parts, with occasional assembly as required. It also oversees all shipping and receiving activities, managing inbound and outbound freight across the company. Working closely with office, shop, and yard teams, this role ensures efficient preparation of deliveries and the safe loading and unloading of freight using small and large forklifts. Responsibilities include handling shipments ranging from small packages to equipment weighing up to 100,000 lbs. across North America. Success in this role requires proficiency with Point of Rental and inventory management systems, strong product knowledge, and the ability to think quickly, make sound decisions under pressure, and communicate effectively and professionally across departments.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows company safety policies and procedures. Receive items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors. Receive and count stock items and record data manually or on computer. Mark stock items, using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment. Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors. Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions. Dispose of damaged or defective items or return them to vendors. Perform periodic inventory counts. Enter/complete work orders into the system. Assist & maintain all Pre/Post equipment checklists and all inspections for equipment into Point of Rental Work with company schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment. Load and unload trucks using forklifts of various sizes or hand unloading. Arrange freight moves with freight brokers, LTL, and common carriers. Manage inventory transfers between branches. Pull and prepare orders for shipment and will-call. Coordinate with shop foreman to prepare and stage equipment for mechanics and trucks. Keep office and shipping/receiving area clean and organized. Always properly use the appropriate PPE for intended use and application Routinely and effectively communicate progress, updates, and issues to Supervisor Pull and Prep Orders for shipment Interpret Work Orders and Pull Stock Accordingly Operates motorized equipment including power tools, saws, hammers, impact drivers Maintain bin locations Occasionally drive the company vehicle to deliver to local customers Perform additional duties as assigned to support operationsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Standing and walking for extended periods Frequent use of hands to handle and grip objects Balance, bend and reach with hands and arms and operate foot controls as needed Occasionally climb ladders, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crouching, and crawling. This role also requires the ability to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing.
