Position Overview The Warehouse and Fulfillment Lead is a highly important operational role within Alamo Pet Experts. This position serves as the day-to-day backbone of warehouse execution, fulfillment flow, shipping coordination, inventory accuracy, and warehouse organization. This is not a passive warehouse role. It is a hands-on leadership support role for someone who understands that behind every order is a retailer counting on us, a vendor trusting us, and a growing company depending on strong internal execution. The person in this role will help ensure that orders are received, reviewed, picked, packed, shipped, tracked, and fulfilled as accurately and efficiently as possible. They will also help maintain order and discipline within the warehouse by enforcing procedures, supporting workflow improvements, and helping uphold operational standards. This role also provides direct oversight of the Warehouse Associate's workflow in the warehouse setting. While this position does not serve as a formal people manager, it does function as a lead and point of coordination for warehouse activities, fulfillment priorities, and daily execution. Key Responsibilities The Warehouse and Fulfillment Lead will be expected to assist with and oversee the following: Receive incoming orders and organize them for fulfillment Cross-check orders against available inventory before fulfillment begins Assist with picking and preparing orders for shipment or delivery Pack orders carefully and accurately to company standards Process and ship ground orders through carriers such as UPS and FedEx Arrange, organize, and help plan local and regional delivery routes Set, uphold, and enforce warehouse policies, procedures, and workflow expectations Sync the commerce site with inventory software to support accurate fulfillment, inventory visibility, and purchase order planning Schedule incoming shipments and receive product deliveries Work alongside the Warehouse Associate to organize, label, and place incoming product in the warehouse Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and general operational readiness Track orders involving backordered or preorder items and help ensure they are properly documented and followed through Monitor and track missing, expired, damaged, or otherwise unsellable products Support accurate warehouse communication regarding fulfillment status, stock issues, and incoming inventory Help ensure that the warehouse remains organized in a way that supports scale, efficiency, and professional operations Assist with loading trucks for deliveries as needed Supervisory/Lead Responsibilities This role includes lead-level oversight of the Warehouse Associate in the context of fulfillment flow and warehouse operations. The Warehouse and Fulfillment Lead will: Help direct daily warehouse priorities Provide day-to-day guidance related to order picking, organization, and workflow Support compliance with warehouse procedures and standards Help identify operational inefficiencies or areas needing correction This role does not include formal people management responsibilities such as hiring, firing, compensation decisions, or HR disciplinary authority. What Success Looks Like in This Role Success in this role means the warehouse runs with consistency, discipline, and clarity. Orders go out accurately and on time. Inventory issues are caught early. Backorders and damages are tracked. Incoming product is received and placed properly. The warehouse stays clean, organized, and functional. Fulfillment remains steady and reliable, even during busy periods. Most importantly, success in this role means helping Alamo Pet Experts operate like the dependable, professional distribution company we are working hard to become. Work Environment This role is fully in-person and based at our warehouse in Schertz, Texas , near I-35, though we will be relocating to warehouses near 41- and Rittiman in the next 60-90 days . Daily commute to the warehouse is required. This position is not remote and not hybrid under any circumstance. It is a part-time position scheduled as needed based on order volume, shipment schedules, warehouse projects, and business demand. Some days may be more fulfillment-heavy, while others may focus more on organization, receiving product, syncing inventory, or warehouse upkeep. This role can also be physically demanding. Team members in this position should expect regular lifting, carrying, organizing, receiving, and loading activity as part of normal warehouse operations.
