Job Description
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Manage staff r esponsible for receiving, inspection, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping . Plan and manage distribution activities through the utilization of workforce skills, hours, material, and workflow to assure timely processing and quality standards are achieved each day. Organize and assign work considering the current workforce levels; instruct, guide, and assist employees in the performance of their work. Maintain and develop an adequately skilled work force consistent with planning requirements and work levels, including cross training. Participate in company programs, such as communications, job training, vacation schedules, and job evaluation. Ability to gather information and report about business needs proactively to Operations, Planning/Scheduling, Purchasing , Engineering, and Maintenance, etc. Manage and enforce the use of safety devices and equipment, supervise departmental housekeeping, and maintain constant alert for unsafe conditions. Maintain conformance with company work rules and regulations, issue warnings for violations and administer approved disciplinary measures when necessary. Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures. Maintains documentation to reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of department activities. Frequently interacts with other supervisors and functional peer groups at various levels. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, answering time sensitive communication, conducting presentation of information concerning specific projects/schedules and daily review of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and Cost metrics. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
