Job Description

Position Summary This position is responsible for assisting the Shipping and Storage Manager with maintaining control and accuracy of all paperwork and operations for the Shipping and Receiving department. Relationships The Shipping Supervisor reports directly to the Dalhart Farm Manager and works in conjunction with Storage Managers and Agronomy team to effectively manage approximately 1.9 million cwt of chip potato inventory annually. Responsibilities In this role, you will:
- Work with the Storage Managers to coordinate shipping loads based on run schedule, quality, and logistical considerations.
- Be a point of contact for customers and shared services regarding Dalhart chip logistics.
- Process and prepare shipping and receiving documents.
- Complete daily data entry and reporting for shipment processing.
- Oversee all orders and ensure they are completed correctly and shipped in a timely fashion.
- Maintain order and housekeeping of the shipping offices.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned. Physical Demands
- Walking and working outdoors in the elements and in an office environment.
- Standing for extended periods of time.
- Driving between farm sites to move samples and other supplies. Expected Hours of Work
- Shipping hours may vary per week and are dependent on customer needs and schedules.
- Harvest and planting seasons may require longer hours, including weekends. Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience coordinating the shipping of crops.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings and weekends during time-critical periods of the shipping season.
- Excellent communication skills (Oral and Written), including ability to train and work with operational teams on the farm.
- Experience using Windows based computer programs. (Excel,Access,PowerPoint) and a general aptitude with software systems.
- Knowledge of common warehouse operations and procedures.
- A strong work-ethic and the ability to be self-directed while still valuing and collecting team input.
- A valid US driver's license or the ability to obtain one and pass vehicle insurance verification.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus Work Authorization
