Oversee, coordinate, and perform activities associated with shipping, receiving, and transportation. Ensures all the product is properly and safely loaded on the trucks for transit.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Takes direction and carries out instructions from the Shipping Supervisor. Lead a group of five (5) or more team members in the Shipping Department. Adopt and maintain a safety-first culture. Confirm all team members are working in a safe manor and are abiding by company guidelines. Ensure all team members are using proper lifting techniques as instructed by management. Reviews records and reports pertaining to the processes of shipping and production, for product availability to complete orders. Participates in work of subordinates to facilitate productivity or overcome difficult aspects of work. Examines procedures and recommends changes to save time, labor, and other costs and to improve quality control and operating efficiency. Oversees incoming transfers and outgoing shipments for accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. Inspects and audits loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping expectations. Verify loads are tied off correctly, stops are properly identified, and units are stacked appropriately to reduce damages. Participate in coaching, training, development, and discipline of team members. Communicates effectively with subordinates and leaders to ensure clear, concise, and accurate information is being provide on shipment distribution. Maintain housekeeping by utilizing the 5S practice. Enforces company policies in a fair and consistent manner. Learn job skills, as needed, to improve leadership effectiveness. Participate in meetings and training sessions on production, safety and quality as required. Report any safety hazards or on the job injuries, no matter how slight to Shipping Supervisor. Performs other duties as required or directed.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
High school diploma or an equivalent combination of experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Requires one to three years of experience working in a production environment. Shipping experience, a plus. Knowledgeable of information and techniques needed to complete the loading processes involved in a manifest. Computer skills and knowledge. Requires forklift experience and valid driver's license. Ability to interface with individuals with diverse backgrounds at varying levels of the organization. Able to train and motivate department personnel. Strong communications and interpersonal skills. Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. Ability to work flexible hours depending upon the needs of the department.
