Warehouse Foreman About AFS American Fire Systems has been in business for 24 years, selling, designing, installing, inspecting, and maintaining fire protection systems in Texas for some of the nation's largest high-end multi-family developers. Specializing in fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, fire pumps & fire extinguishers, AFS is pursuing new verticals, new services, and new markets to aggressively augment their growth. Now pursuing fire protection opportunities in Commercial, Industrial, Government, Education (K-12) & Healthcare, as well as the Multi-Family, AFS has also expanded into the Security field and now offers expertise in selling, designing, installing, and servicing CCTV & Security Alarms, Access Control systems, and monitoring services for both Security and Fire Alarm. These initiatives demand acquiring and developing new talent and ambitious team members who want a burgeoning career in the industry with a company intent on future growth. Not only is American Fire Systems continuing to grow in its offerings, but they are also increasing its reach. While holding a significant market share in the greater Houston area, AFS has recently opened offices in Austin/San Antonio/Dallas/Fort Worth. About the Role This role reports to the Fire Sprinkler Contracts Manager and is in Houston, TX. AFS is looking for a Warehouse Foreman for immediate opportunities in Houston, TX. The preferred candidate should have 2+ years of experience leading a warehouse and its staff, be self-motivated, and have the ability to be a team leader. What you'll do (day to day) Manage the warehouse operations. Oversee and supervise assigned employees who are engaged in ordering, receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials. Fleet Management of all company vehicles. Communicate with other departments to ensure products are shipped on time. Set warehouse and team goals in collaboration with executive management and other team leads. Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse. Always keep the warehouse clean and safe. Building maintenance. Required Education and Experience 2+ years' experience as a Warehouse Foreman/Manager. Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to set goals, motivate, manage conflicts, and schedules. Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking, and active listening. Bilingual is a plus. Great interpersonal skills. Exceptional time management and organization skills. In-depth understanding of industry and company best practices for the warehouse. Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time. Must be reliable. Work well with others. Candidates must pass a drug screen. Candidates must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Candidates must be able to show proof of work eligibility. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
