Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Shipping Coordinator manages domestic and international shipping operations to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods. This role coordinates transportation, documentation, customs requirements, and shipment tracking while maintaining accurate records and resolving logistical issues. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with hazardous materials (HAZMAT) shipping , including applicable regulatory and documentation requirements, as well as international freight and customs processes. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for coordinating with carriers, suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment in accordance with invoices, work orders, or pick lists. Ensure all outgoing shipments are securely packaged, properly labeled, and meet company and carrier requirements. Print, apply, and verify shipping labels, barcodes, packing slips, and related documentation. Coordinate with carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL, freight companies, etc.) to schedule pickups, track deliveries, and resolve shipping issues. Perform quality checks on outgoing shipments to confirm accuracy of items, quantities, and condition. Update inventory systems to reflect shipped items and maintain accurate shipping records. Operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts) safely and in compliance with company policies. Follow warehouse safety procedures and comply with shipping regulations, including hazardous materials handling (if applicable). Assist with receiving inbound shipments, cycle counts, and inventory audits as needed. Support warehouse team members and contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance shipping efficiency.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous warehouse or shipping/receiving experience preferred. Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management or shipping software. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
Work Environment:
Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures. Fast-paced, team-oriented environment with deadlines to meet. Requires use of some safety equipment. Pay:
