SUMMARY:
The Distribution Team Lead assists the Distribution Supervisor in the overall performance of operations. This position is responsible for leading and training team members and coordinating the daily activities. In addition, this position will be responsible for providing a safe work environment, ensuring quality and customer service standards are being met, cost efficiencies, and filling in for absent team members on an as needed basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for leading others in the day-to-day activities; coordinates workflow and motivates team. Ensure all warehousing activities including packing, staging, and preparation of product shipments are conducted safely, efficiently and effectively. Ensure accurate systematic transactions. Resolve discrepancies regarding picked product, pick lists, pack lists and cycle counting. Train new employees on the safety and quality standards Cross train team members. Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping workstations neat; complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Operate and preventively maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment. Follow standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position does not have direct reports.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED equivalent certification Minimum of 1-year warehouse lead experience Must have English language proficiency. Intermediate skills experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Proficiency in inventory software, databases, and systems Forklift driving experience and certification preferred. Ability to work well independently and with others. Dedication to safety Attention to detail. Ability to keep accurate records. Ability to work under deadlines and meet competing demands. Good customer service and interpersonal skills Proven traits in dependability, initiative, high energy, and proficient in time management
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid driver's license and/or ID Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds, bend, and walk and climb stairs. Varying work schedules to meet client demand is sometimes required Must be able to work in hot and cold climates
