Job Description

Hiring Department The University of Texas Permian Basin's Physical Plant welcomes applications for the position of Warehouse Coordinator Salary Range $44,919.00 depending on qualifications Essential Functions The Warehouse Coordinator oversees daily warehouse operations for the Physical Plant by managing inventory, coordinating supply distribution, and supporting the timely availability of tools, equipment, and materials needed for campus operations. This position works closely with maintenance, facilities, and Physical Plant staff to ensure materials are received, organized, documented, and distributed efficiently. The role supports safe and effective campus operations through accurate inventory control, strong organization, clear communication, and consistent attention to warehouse procedures, safety standards, and service needs. Inventory Management 1. Maintain accurate records of all warehouse inventory, including tools, materials, and supplies. 2. Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies. 3. Ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization of items to maximize efficiency. Material Handling and Distribution 1. Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments for accuracy and quality. 2. Coordinate the timely distribution of materials and supplies to physical plant staff. 3. Manage and fulfill material requests and work orders using the university's inventory system. Procurement and Vendor Coordination 1. Assist with ordering materials and supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels. 2. Work with vendors to schedule deliveries, resolve issues, and ensure timely receipt of goods. Safety and Compliance 1. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment. 2. Ensure compliance with university policies, OSHA standards, and other applicable safety regulations. 3. Oversee the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials, if applicable. Equipment Management 1. Oversee the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials, if applicable. 2. Coordinate repairs, calibration, or replacement of damaged tools and equipment. Documentation and Reporting 1. Maintain accurate records of inventory, purchases, and warehouse activities. 2. Generate reports on inventory levels, usage trends, and purchasing needs as required. Collaboration and Communication 1. Work closely with facilities supervisors and staff to anticipate material needs for maintenance and construction projects. 2. Provide support for special projects, emergencies, and seasonal demands. 3. The job description is not a complete list of all responsibilities and duties performed by employees. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory management. 3. Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications 1. Experience in logistics or supply chain management. 2. Experience in a facilities/physical plant setting. 3. Forklift certification. Additional Information Required Application Materials 1. Schedule Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments. Standard Working Conditions 1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. 2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously. 3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously. 4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time. 5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement. 6.
