Job Description
Position Summary:
The Distribution Crew Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the distribution crew, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulations. The Foreman will coordinate and supervise the crew, manage resources, and maintain high-quality work while meeting project deadlines. This role serves as a key link between the crew and the Distribution Supervisor. To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily.
Essential Functions:
Supervision and Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of distribution crew members, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
Project Coordination:
Plan, organize, and execute daily work assignments for the crew, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget.
Safety Compliance:
Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and best practices. Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits to maintain a safe work environment.
Quality Control:
Monitor work quality and ensure adherence to specifications and standards. Address any issues or discrepancies promptly.
Resource Management:
Manage equipment, tools, and materials required for each project. Ensure proper maintenance and storage of equipment and report any equipment malfunctions or needs to the Distribution Supervisor.
Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered. Provide daily progress reports to the Distribution Supervisor.
Problem Solving:
Identify and address any problems or obstacles that arise during the course of a project, implementing solutions to keep the project on track.
Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact between the crew and the Distribution Supervisor, relaying instructions, updates, and feedback as needed.
Training and Development:
Assist in training new crew members and ensure all team members understand safety protocols, company policies, and job requirements.
Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training is a plus. Valid Class A CDL required Completion of an accredited lineman apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
Experience & Skills:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in distribution operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid/CPR) preferred. Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and work orders Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site

Work Environment:
This position operates primarily outdoors at various transmission job sites, requiring exposure to different weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or snow. The role involves working at heights on transmission towers, around high-voltage electrical systems, and in rugged terrain, making safety awareness and adherence to protocols essential.
