Job Summary The Shipping Lead is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient fulfillment of customer orders. This role leads shipping personnel, coordinates outbound shipments, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures compliance with company safety and quality standards. The Shipping Lead serves as the primary point of contact for shipping-related issues and works closely with warehouse, inventory, customer service, and transportation teams to meet operational goals. Duties Lead and coordinate daily shipping activities and workflow. Verify order accuracy, packaging requirements, and shipment documentation before release. Ensure all shipments are processed and dispatched according to company schedules and customer requirements. Maintain accurate shipping records, bills of lading, packing slips, and carrier documentation. Coordinate pickups and deliveries with freight carriers and transportation providers. Monitor shipping performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement. Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and inventory reconciliation. Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, shortages, damages, and delivery issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Enforce company policies, warehouse procedures, and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments regarding shipping priorities and operational needs. Operate material handling equipment as needed and ensure proper equipment maintenance. Qualifications Required 2+ years of warehouse, distribution, or shipping experience. Previous experience leading or supervising employees. Knowledge of shipping procedures, carrier requirements, and warehouse operations. Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Experience with freight shipping, LTL, parcel carriers, and international shipping documentation. Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. Work Environment Warehouse and distribution center environment. Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving equipment.
Pay:
$19.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
