Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dock Lead who is responsible for overseeing daily dock operations, ensuring the efficient loading and unloading of freight, coordinating workflow among warehouse associates, and maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment. This position serves as a key point of contact for dock personnel and works closely with warehouse leadership to ensure customer orders and inbound shipments are processed accurately and on time. The Dock Lead plays a critical role in managing inbound and outbound shipments, supervising daily dock activities, supporting inventory accuracy, optimizing operational processes, and maintaining safety standards. Through strong leadership and attention to detail, this position helps streamline warehouse distribution activities and uphold the company's commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Duties Lead and support dock personnel in daily warehouse operations, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a productive work environment. Supervise and coordinate shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, and material handling activities to ensure the timely and accurate processing of goods. Assign tasks and monitor workflow to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the effective unloading of trailers. Verify freight for accuracy, quantity, and condition, and investigate and report shipment discrepancies, damages, or inventory issues. Ensure shipments are processed according to customer requirements, company procedures, and specific customer requests communicated by Account Managers. Communicate and collaborate with Account Managers, shipping and receiving teams, and logistics partners to coordinate shipments and maintain efficient warehouse flow. Oversee inventory management processes using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to maintain inventory accuracy. Monitor dock areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards. Operate and oversee the safe use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Assist with training new employees on dock procedures, safety practices, equipment operation, and company policies. Promote a positive team environment and help resolve day-to-day operational challenges. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and support operational excellence. Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations. Experience Previous warehouse experience required; experience in warehouse management, supervision, or a team lead role within a fast-paced distribution environment preferred. Forklift certification or the ability to become certified, with hands-on experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment. Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and basic computer applications. Strong understanding of inventory control, materials handling, shipping and receiving procedures, and warehouse safety standards, including OSHA compliance. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a high-volume environment. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical warehouse duties throughout the shift. Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
