Yard Supervisor Details:

Schedule:

Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Overtime required, including weekends

Pay Rate:

$31/hour

Contract-to-Hire Opportunity Yard Supervisor Responsibilities:

Supervise daily yard operations, including trailer movements, dock activity, shipping, receiving, fleet operations, and transportation coordination Coordinate schedules with warehouse teams, carriers, drivers, and transportation partners to ensure timely inbound and outbound shipments Manage routing, trailer staging, dock assignments, equipment availability, and daily transportation activities Maintain accurate shipment, trailer, routing, freight, and yard location records using transportation and warehouse systems Monitor yard flow, dock utilization, trailer dwell times, and performance metrics to identify and resolve operational inefficiencies Partner with warehouse leadership to support staffing, equipment planning, load prioritization, and capacity management Investigate and resolve shipment, inventory, documentation, safety, and transportation discrepancies while ensuring regulatory compliance Analyze transportation data, rates, and service trends to support continuous improvement initiatives and operational reporting

Yard Supervisor Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required 5-10 years of warehouse, transportation, logistics, fleet, or yard management experience preferred Previous supervisory or leadership experience required Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, routing, transportation, yard operations, and compliance procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email systems, and warehouse/transportation software; SAP experience preferred Excellent communication, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and lead teams in a fast-paced environment Reliable attendance and ability to stand, walk, and work both indoors and outdoors while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality standards PeopleShare is the leading Staffing Agency in the region and has temporary to hire and permanent jobs across 8 states.
