Job Type:
FullTime Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary Responsible for organizing the shipment of hazardous materials, including radioactivity, to customers across the US and abroad. These materials are needed by researchers for the continuation of life saving clinical trials. A strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are crucial to this position. This position is part of the world renowned WashU Cyclotron Facility and Nuclear Pharmacy. Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains/Updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents for primary and secondary duties. Serves as a backup to supervisor in supervisors' absence. Provides customer service to internal and external customer who need help ordering radiometal and tracking shipments. Works with shipping partners such as USPS, FedEx, UPS, and Associated Couriers as well as campus departments to organize packages each day. Accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork are all critical success factors as the volume is significant. Processes intake for each shipped item. Unloads, scans, sorts and shelves packages for pickup, delivery to customers, or placement in storage. Provides timely look up functions for packages using available software. Assists in maintaining accurate names and addresses of customers. Demonstrates safety protocols at all times and attends regular trainings. Prepares and packages lab materials and items for shipping in compliance with IATA (Int'l Air Transportation Assoc.), DOT and other regulatory requirements, using knowledge and training required to be a certified (requires periodic offsite training to maintain certification) shipper of chemicals, biological, and hazardous materials including radioactive shipments. Keeps labs updated on changes in shipping requirements and prohibitions. Performs other duties as assigned.
